SAP Screen Personas is a software product that is included with any other licensed SAP product. It allows you to adapt SAP screens, automate business processes, and run them on your phone, tablet, or desktop. It provides a simple drag and drop approach to modify most SAP GUI screens to improve their usability and visual appeal.
The UI adaptation for a single screen or a set of related screens is called a flavor in SAP Screen Personas. SAP Screen Personas provides two main options to create and consume flavors: SAP GUI for HTML for a server-side rendering engine (mostly used for desktop applications) and Slipstream Engine for a client-side rendering engine (mostly used for mobile devices such as phones and tablets).
By the end of this tutorial, you will have created a flavor for transaction IW51 (Create Service Notification) that will greatly simplify the creation of Service Notifications for your users on both desktop and mobile devices. This tutorial will focus on creating the initial screen: a dashboard that launches the main screen of IW51. The next tutorial will cover simplifying that screen and including additional functionality. To meet the mobile needs of the use case, the tutorial uses the Slipstream Engine option of SAP Screen Personas.
